What is the Green Wave? Jean-Patrice Netter, President and Founder of DIAGMA, a consulting firm specializing in Supply Chain, explains the principle, operating mode and benefits of this new flow synchronization method, which aims to drastically reduce production lead times, WIP and waste.
L’Onde Verte, a method derived from vehicle traffic optimization
Inspired by the fluidity of vehicle traffic, this method aims to create virtual lines that allow production flows to pass seamlessly from one stage to the next. As a result, production time is reduced to the sum of operating times. This new method cuts manufacturing times by a factor of 3 to 10. It improves service rates and quality, boosts sales, and reduces work-in-process, costs, waste, etc.
Define virtual lines, then repetitive patterns
The definition of repetitive patterns (a manufacturing sequence – e.g. Product A,B, C, C – optimized and repeated over time) also provides better long-term visibility, as well as greater peace of mind by stabilizing the manufacturing plan for both planners and suppliers.
The opinion of 3 industrial planning experts
This method is therefore highly virtuous, but what are the prerequisites for applying it?
Follow the Replay of this webinar to hear the recommendations of the three speakers, specialists in industrial planning:
- Gérard DEMAN, membre du conseil d’administration et conseiller stratégique principal CHINA BLUESTAR
- Bruno SAINTES, Senior Advisor, ex-VP Process & Project line pipe product lines VALLOUREC
- Alain DESCHAUME, Director of Digital and Technical Integration DSM-FIRMENICH
